Reaccredited by NAAC with Grade B (Grade Point 2.62)
School of Studies in Geology & Water Resource Management

This School of Studies in Geology and Water Resource Management aims at imparting to students basic insight into the subject with extensive field training. Besides regular degree courses, it also aims at pursuing researches leading to an understanding of the geology of the central Indian craton. The thrust areas of research are mainly: Mineral and Groundwater resource evaluation studies; and Precambrian Tectonosedimentary Environment elucidation.

Infrastructure facilities:

The School is housed in its own building. It is equipped with the laboratories sufficient to cater researches in Petrology, Geochemistry, Mineral Deposits, Sedimentology, Remote Sensing, Hydrogeology and Water Resource Management. Atomic Absorption Spectrometer, Carl Zeiss Jenapol-U Research Microscope and Procom-2 are the major equipments besides several other important and basic facilities. The GIS lab is equipped with P-IV Computers, scanner, Printers and MapInfo 7.8 . IDRISI KILIMANJARO Software for training the students in remote sensing and GIS. The School is having a well equipped workshop to process the minerals and rocks for various investigations. One vehicle (Mobile Van) of the School are a major asset for Geological and Hydro geological investigations in the field. Audiovisual equipments and Computers add to the proficiency in research and teaching. This School is having a good collection of Rocks and Minerals of the Region for the students and visitors.
